"We had a wonderful family get together at Federation Gardens last weekend. Our large group (27 adults, 10 children) were accommodated with ease. Jess was very helpful from our first phone call and ensured that our needs were met. The swimming pool and activities room were a real hit with our younger members. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and there was plenty of room to spread out. The weather was particularly kind so we had a great catch up around the BBQ area on the first night. Definitely value for money and a good location to access the many activities that the Blue Mountains offered"v

"Romantic Anniversary Getaway
My husband and I stayed at the Possums Hideaway for our first wedding anniversary and it was just perfect! The area is a 'no children' zone, so it's perfect for a romantic getaway. The elevated cabin had a gorgeous bush outlook and was immaculately cleaned by Belle. We were welcomed by the bubbly Chelsea, who was just so friendly and accommodating. The grounds were lush, green and filled with gorgeous gardens and cottages. We couldn't believe we had such gorgeous bush walks right on our doorstep (literally). It was also very close to the incredible Ates Restaurant, where we had the most delicious banquet lunch for our anniversary. We also did the Cliff Top Walk, just down the road and went to Evans Lookout (the best view in the mountains), which was all so close to our accommodation. We would stay again in a heartbeat and have already recommended it to our friends with young families, as the main area has a heated indoor pool, fire pit, tennis courts, games rooms and a playground. Perfect for families or couples"

An absolute gem.
What a gem of a find! Just the sweetest place, wonderful cottage to gardens ratio - meaning; so much space to wander and explore. So many activities: we had a go on the tennis court, a swim in the pool and a hit of table tennis. My 3yr old and 70+yr old mum equally enjoyed it all. And a nice evening jog down to Evans Lookout to top it all off for my husband and I. Would definitely stay again!

The Christmas season is in full bloom, and we are nearing the completion of yet another blessed year here at Federation Gardens and Possums Hideaway. Under the guidance of our bubbly property manager Jess, Jess and her dedicated team (Chelsey, Erin, Nicole, Chelsea & Peter) have warmly hosted the stays of over 5000 guests this year! The team have hosted many a family reunion, birthday celebrations, anniversaries, sporting groups, weekend getaways etc and have done so with unbridled zeal and drive, week in, and week out. Simple Pleasures. Grandchildren. Making memories. Spending time foraging the property to collect THE perfect toasting stick. Building a fire together. Lighting the fire. Excitedly opening a packet of fluffy pink and white marshmallows. Eating a marshmallow before you even begin toasting them 😂 Then the joy of teaching the little one how to turn the stick slowly to reach just the right hue without the marshmallow catching fire! Relaxing and enjoying the simple pleasure of a bright fire, a beautiful little human being, and the gooey sweetness of the moment. Now back to work! 😂

We ducked away to Federation gardens for a 2 night getaway. My young children had a fantastic time - the scavenger hunt and roasting marshmallows were big hits. They also enjoyed playing with the giant chess set. Cabin was clean and cozy & warm as always. I’ve been to Federation Gardens a few times now and always enjoy the stay. "Girls Night Away. Accommodation was amazing, we stayed in the 5 bedroom cottage. The cottage was far enough away from other accommodation on the property so we had plenty of privacy. From the welcoming lit fireplace on our arrival to the marshmallows for toasting and the well-stocked games room, the thoughtful small touches were very much appreciated. Covid-safe precautions were in place, but it didn’t affect the kids having a great time in the heated indoor pool, kicking a ball around on the grounds and playing tennis. The rooms were comfortable and warm on an unseasonably cold wet weekend and Jess was lovely and helpful. Thanks again for a wonderful stay- we will definitely be back!"

They say the road to recovery starts with the first step. And this weekend is our first step! And such a beautiful step it is ..... in line with current health orders we have opened our doors to the Greater Sydney Region (vaccinated) and welcomed guests back to our property. And it is just so lovely to do so. Must say, its been a loooooong time since we have received a guest review, so when this review from Kelly came through today, it truly was like music to our ears ........
" Loved everything , very private . Comfortabe bed and lounge . Spa bath was great too. Very clean . Loved the private verandah although weather was a bit chilly . The welcome we recieved when we arrived was lovely . Jess even supplied extra coffee and sugar and she was fantastic to deal with."

It is with much joy that we can share with you that we will have the pleasure of hosting guests again from FRIDAY 15th OCTOBER 2021!
We will be following all Government Guidelines in allowing us to reopen and look forward to welcoming you back to our property. Our three stage ‘roadmap’ to opening:
Stage 1 – Friday 15th October – open to Greater Sydney Region guests (fully vaccinated)
Stage 2 – Anticipating Monday 1st November ( revised from 25th October) – open to Regional guests (fully vaccinated)
Stage 3 – 1st December – open to all!! (vaccinated and unvaccinated)
Under current health orders our indoor swimming pool, enclosed outdoor firepit area; and games room are to remain closed for now. But we will not let that take away from the fact that we still have 8 acres of property to roam; a number of outdoor activities to keep the family occupied and we are surrounded by ample beautiful bushwalks. Its springtime, temperatures are moderate; gardens are in bloom and we have arrived safely to this point of re-opening. Feeling blessed and truly cant wait to see you all again soon 😊

1st September. As well as being the first day of Spring, it is also National Wattle Day. I read today in an article that wattle has two things it can teach us. Resilience and adaptation. Wattle has had to do those two things continually over the years to survive. A little Federation Gardens and Possums Hideaway winters afternoon reflection. When leaves are off our many trees, we see things we perhaps couldnt before. A leafless tree ...... still displays its own certain loveliness. And despite our business being closed most of winter, it has also been a season of forced rest. It too, has provided its own kind of loveliness in a few small ways. Its just one of those days ....... a day just to sit at the window and have appreciation for all that is on the other side of the window pane. Nature never disappoints 🍀🍃☘
COVID LOCKDOWN UPDATE : As we form part of the Greater Sydney Region, we too are called to join with all others in continuing to be closed til the end of September. That will bring us to a total of 94 days closed, and sadly this also means we will miss seeing all our school holiday guests. We were so excited to give all the kiddies something to look forward to, and mums & dads a little break. But we will all just have to gently lay those plans to one side for a little longer, and do our part in keeping our communities safe. Jess our bubbly, cheery site manager will be in touch with all September guests over coming days, but understandably our reception is operating on vastly reduced hours, so she will be in email contact very soon. In the meantime we hope you all take care - and be sure to take a moment yourselves to sit awhile by the window and look out on nature ....... it truly is good for the soul ☘🍃🍀

Heading into week 3 of lockdown with another week of no guests. But whilst lockdown robs many of many things, it doesn't take away the beauty that surrounds each of us. I love this little 'pocket' of pine forest on our property. Lovely place to sit and reflect. And as we here at Federation Gardens and Possums Hideaway enter into a new week, we have opted to just lay all plans aside for a week. Sometimes it's okay to just breathe, trust, let go a tad, and see what happens. Keep safe everyone ❤
Just a little Saturday afternoon lockdown reflection ...... amid an empty property. Within each of us in business is a spirit of wisdom and creativity - and we each express that differently. For some, that spirit ignited a passion and drive to pursue the very dream that has been placed on their heart - for us here at Federation Gardens and Possums Hideaway - that is to host the stays of our many guests whom choose the Bue Mountains for their getaway. As our nation works to battle this current round of the pandemic numbers head on, the economic impact of the CoronaVirus on small business owners and entrepreneurs weighs heavily. We sit and helplessly watch as some businesses gently close their doors and try to ride this out, threatening the well being and prosperity of their business owners and the many people they employ. We offer a prayer of thanksgiving for these creative individuals who have chased their passion to date, and pray that they and their surrounding communities can hold fast to that dream that was once placed upon their heart, and that on the other side of this current lockdown we pray that dreams will be fanned into flame, renewed & sustained. That businesses will re-open and emerge stronger than before. That the small business community can be a true voice of hope in these continuing uncertain times ❤
COVID update - sadly no making of memories around the firepit this holidays. As we form part of the Greater Sydney Region, we too need to do our part and adhere to current restrictions & close our doors for the time being. We are very sad to see our guests affected by the lockdowns, but to those affected we will be in touch regarding your booking in the coming days.
